Old Cuban Cocktail Background
The Old Cuban was created in 2001 by Audrey Saunders.
When creating it, she envisioned “a Mojito in a little black dress”. Basically, a Mojito but classier.
She told PunchDrunk, “My goal with the Old Cuban was to create a lively yet elegant Champagne cocktail with a neotropical edge. “
And, “I wanted to keep the recipe simple and straightforward, something with a sharp, clean, yet tangy profile that also provides complexity and effervescence.”
Now, it’s an Official Internation Bartenders Association (IBA) cocktail and is very, very popular.
